Mackinac Island’s oldest and largest horse and buggy livery and the official tour of Mackinac State Park offering narrated tours through downtown to Surrey Hills, Arch Rock, Fort Mackinac and Grand Hotel. Carriage tours depart regularly from the office across from the Arnold Ferry Dock.

Drive Your Own Buggy

Jack’s Livery Stable offers Drive Your Own Buggies for cruising the shoreline and throughout areas of Mackinac Island State Park. Buggies are available for two, four, or six passengers and are available by the hour. Stable hands give a short lesson on how to drive and then you are off to explore.

Horseback Riding and Carriage Driving Lessons include a safe, educational three-hour Introduction to Riding, or hourly private, semi-private and group lessons. Instructors are highly trained experts who teach in a ring at the equestrian center.  Whether you ride or not, come take a tour of our barn and interact with their horses.

Come meet a Mackinac Island School Teacher and year round resident for an informative presentation that answers answers all of our questions about living on the unique Mackinac Island. Karen will keep you in stitches with the humorous anecdotes about her experiences during the past 37 years that capture the essence of the Island and its residents. Vocal Local presentations are nightly at Harbour View Inn. Special presentations for large groups are available upon request.

Bicycling & Bicycle Rentals

The Island is a biker’s paradise. Bicycles are available in a wide array: single-speed, three-speed, five-speed, ten-speed, tandems, mountain bikes, fat-tire bikes, kids bikes, beach cruisers, burly carts, tagalongs, child carriers and more are all at your disposal. With over 70 miles of natural and paved trails inside the Park, you can explore and discover its sun-dappled, verdant secrets for days on end. Mountain bikers will drool over our dirt trails for a muscle-building, sweat-inducing workout. The terrain ranges from flat to 300-foot steep bluff climbs. If you can’t leave your bike behind, all ferry lines will transport them over to the Island for an additional fee.

Electric Amigo scooters are available to those with disabilities or medical conditions. Because the scooters are limited in quantity, adult strollers are also available at Mackinac Island Bike ShopRyba Bike Rental and Mackinac Cycle.
