Event Planning on Mackinac Island, MI
Because of our strategic location in the waterways of the Upper Midwest, Mackinac Island has been a gathering place for Native Americans since approximately 1100 AD and for Europeans since at least 1671.
There is nothing quite like the Mackinac experience; a vacation with no automobiles, waking up to the gentle clip clop of horses and buggies amidst the fresh air, soft lake breezes and the beauty of nature surrounding everything and everyone.
Groups enjoy leisurely carriage tours, butterfly conservatories, hiking, biking and trail riding though Mackinac State Historic Park to view the striking natural wonders. Sailing, lighthouse tours, parasailing and biplane tours offer panoramic vistas from which to view the breathtaking island views.
Built in 1780, Fort Mackinac attests to Mackinac Island’s important place in American History; the John Jacob Astor Museum celebrates Mackinac Island’s fur trade and its importance in Great Lakes History, the Tower at Mission Point Resort explores the maritime history of our region within the context of America’s creation, Grand Hotel is the architectural icon of the Island, while Surrey Hills Antique Carriage Museum speaks to Mackinac’s historic horse culture.
Mackinac Island offers outstanding dining, shopping, arts, architecture and nightlife. Resorts, hotels, historic inns, bed & breakfasts, apartments, condominiums, town homes and home rentals offer the amenities travelers have come to expect from economical to extravagant.
