The magic is PMC, Precious Metal Clay, a pliable, putty-like compound containing actual silver powder. It can be molded, textured and layered using simple tools. When fired, the binder burns away and you have an ornament of 100% pure silver. Tuesday evening, you will learn how to work with the PMC, create a small silver charm and use a portable torch; during the second session on Wednesday morning, you will create a pendant with a stenciled design. Both pieces will be completely fired, polished and ready to wear when you leave this workshop.
Students who have experience using the PMC have the opportunity the work on more advanced projects during the workshop Wednesday morning ($40.00) and/or may attend a special 3 hour session on Wednesday afternoon, 1PM to 4PM, which will include Bronze Clay an additional cost of $40.00.
