The Mackinac Island Winter Festival is a great family weekend. All attendees will have the chance to view and vote on the selection of the images for the 2013 Mackinac Island Calendar. The Winter Festival is presented by the Mackinac Island Recreation Department.

The Annual Mackinac Island Winter Festival is a fundraiser for Mackinac Island Recreational Development (MIRD).  MIRD raises money through the sale of the annual Season of Mackinac calendar and this annual Winter Festival to support the recreational needs of Mackinac Island.  MIRD’s focus is on providing the equipment for recreation.  In the past, they have used the monies raised to purchase playground equipment,  cross country skis for use at the school and have provided funding for the purchase of ski trail grooming equipment.
