Mackinac Island Winter Festival
Winter Festival is a fundraiser for Mackinac Island Recreational Development (MIRD). They raise money through the sale of the annual Season of Mackinac Calendar. In the past, they have purchased playground equipment, cross country skis for use at the school, and have provided funding for the purchase of ski trail grooming equipment while continuing to outfit and upgrade Great Turtle Park for the community.
Saturday festivities include Broom Hockey, Snow Bowling, Snow Golf, Cardboard Sledding Contest and Children’s Games at Great Turtle Park from 12pm-3pm.
Sunday activities will be held at the Mackinac Island Public School with a hearty breakfast/brunch from 10am until 3pm. The Mackinac Island Calendar Photo Contest, Raffle, Silent Auction, Archery, Poker Run, Snow Volleyball, Bingo and Kids Carnival take place throughout the day.
Sponsorships and donations for event prizes and silent auction table are always needed and appreciated. Donations can be delivered to First National Bank on Market Street or to Mackinac Island Public School. By mail: Mackinac Island Recreational Development (MIRD), PO Box 421, Mackinac Island, MI 49757.
The Seasons of Mackinac Calendar generally arrive at the end of April each season and are available Island wide.
