| March |
While Islanders don’t celebrate the ides of March as the Romans did with a Toga run through town, they do celebrate the end of winter with great St. Patrick’s day parties, cross country skiing, the occasional winter beach party and as much sleeping in as possible. For travelers, its exciting to fly over to the Island on Great Lakes Air, take the horse drawn taxi to town and just settle in for a few days of “chilin'’ out.” Weather is complicated and inconsistent in the month of March, but there is something exciting about that too.
