Getting Here
Water
All season long, Mackinac Island is serviced from both Mackinaw City and St. Ignace by three ferry companies: Arnold Transit, Shepler’s Ferry and Star Line Ferry. It’s anywhere from a 16 to 30-minute trip. Luggage service and parking is available at the ferry docks. Check with each company for schedules and pricing. If you arrive by your own vessel, we recommend you make slip reservations with the Mackinac Island State Harbor ahead of time.
Land
Interstate I-75 brings you to the ferry docks of both Mackinaw City (Lower Peninsula) and St. Ignace (Upper Peninsula). The exits are easy to find as they are clearly marked for several miles. If you travel over the famous Mackinac Bridge – the third longest suspension bridge in the world – a nominal toll will be assessed.
Air
Pellston Airport (PLN) is serviced by Delta Airlines and is approximately 15 miles from the Island. Mackinaw Shuttle Services and Wolverine Stages are located in the main terminal of the airport and can take you to the ferries headed for the Island. On the Island, private aircraft can land on the Mackinac Island Airport’s 3,500-foot runway.
