Location, location, location...Mackinac Island is a great place to shoot a major motion picture, television series, documentary, commercial or independent film. We are committed to assisting those in the film industry reach their goals. With 300 years of American architecture, a historic downtown, the romance of a horse drawn community, no personal motor vehicles, Military Forts, yacht races, a lively sailing community, boreal forests, rivers, brooks and the Great Lakes, Mackinac Island is a perfect location. Accommodations, tech support, a sound stage, a viewing theatre and more. The Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau also offers guidance with managing the logistics of getting here, filming here and we are also knowledgeable about city and county permit requirements when required.

Sustainable Mackinac
National Geographic Traveler November/December Issue 2007 commends Mackinac Island as one of the top ten Islands in the world for sustainability.

Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Theme
Classic Saturday Morning Cartoons have been chosen as the theme for the 2008 Lilac Festival. The Saturday Morning Cartoon is the term for all American animated television programming scheduled on Saturday mornings from the 1960s to the 1990s and is often referred to by its critics as "illustrated radio" because of its focus on voice, music and sound effects. News Update:
Horse & Marriage, Episode 23 features wedding coordinator Carole Erbel of For the Love of Mackinac on the Style Network's show Married Away and will be rebroadcast on October 27-29. The Colorado couple's gorgeous wedding took place at the Inn at Stonecliffe.

Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe
Discovery's Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe filmed two episodes about the workers and their jobs on the Mackinac Bridge and the street sweepers and our composting system here on Mackinac Island. THE EARLY SHOW (7am-9am weekdays) was on Island June 22 to film segments with Weather Anchor Dave Price. He filmed at Fort Mackinac, Cindy's Riding Stable, Professor Harry's Old Time Photos, OrrKids Bikes, Murdick's Fudge and the Mackinac Bridge. Also, the show will be filming their final Great American Vacation episode on the Island to air on August 23rd from Grand Hotel...stay tuned for more information.

Grand Hotel and Hotel Iroquois were both awarded the 2006 Top 500 Hotels by Travel + Leisure Magazine. In addition, Hotel Iroquois was also awarded the prestigious 2006 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List Award.

Mackinac Island is the recipient of the 2006 Top Ten North American Islands by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.

The American Bus Association voted the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival one of their top 100 events.
