Poetry performances by Spoken Word artist and lifelong Mackinac resident Jamie Andress, and island poet James Lenfestey, author of seven poetry collections including East Bluff: Mackinac Poems Old and New. Andress will perform a suite of his remarkable Spoken Word compositions, and Lenfestey will recite and talk about poems by the ancient Chinese poet Cold Mountain and some of the great poets of the 20th Century: Yeats, Rilke, Hopkins, Robert Bly and Mary Oliver, plus recite several of his own. Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman have surprisingly agreed to make guest appearances. Free Event.
