Lilacs and Warblers Birding Adventure!

Birders of all ages will enjoy this unique guided adventure, searching for spring songbirds during the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival. Participants will meet naturalist Kyle Bagnall in Marquette Park at the statue of Father Marquette. There, amidst thousands of fragrant lilac blossoms, you’ll be inspired by Walt Whitman’s 1870 poem, “Warble for Lilac-Time” followed by a guided stroll as we look for migrating warblers, raptors soaring overhead, and the “high-hole flashing his golden wings.”
