Unsung Stories: Great Women of Early Mackinac
June 16, 2019 - July 16, 2019
Opening Reception: June 15, 5:00-7:00pm, open to the public
In partnership with Melissa Croghan, the Center for the Arts will host a special exhibit featuring portraits and historical information about significant women of Mackinac Island from the 17th through the 19th centuries. This exhibit will coincide with a new book detailing the biographies of historic Mackinac Island women.
Located in the Mission Point Theater lobby, the Center for the Arts gallery overlooks Lake Huron in the original main entrance to the theater. Traveling and local exhibits rotate throughout the season. Staff and volunteers are usually present to answer questions about the artwork and provide more information about arts and culture on Mackinac Island.
The gallery is open 9-5 Monday-Saturday, and 12-5 Sunday during the Summer and early Fall months. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
