June is a lovely month on Mackinac Island. Everything is open, the crowds are picking up but it’s not too busy, the temperature continues to rise and the weather is generally mild, and it’s the kick off to our most beloved festival, the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival. It’s hard to predict and of course weather dependent, but the lilacs generally bloom the second week of June. With so many lilac varieties in so many locations on Mackinac Island, they tend to have a 2-3 week window from bud to peak bloom.
